Karlotta Otto, M.A. (she/her)

Karlotta Otto (she/her) has been a research associate at the Diversity Research Institute since May 2026. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Ethnology from the University of Tübingen. Karlotta Otto pursued her Master's studies in Sociology at Leibniz University Hannover before completing her Master's degree at the University of Tübingen. During her studies, she specialized in qualitative empirical research methods.

In the summer semesters of 2023 and 2024, Karlotta Otto worked as a lecturer in Sociology at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration and Finance Ludwigsburg.


Karlotta’s main research interests are:

• Sociology of Morality and its perspective on diversity
• Sociology of critique and the criticism of discrimination
• Sociology of knowledge perspective on privilege, discrimination and allyship
• Qualitative methods, with a focus on ethnographic approaches and participatory research
