• Lichtenberg-Kolleg

The Lichtenberg-Kolleg is the newly established Institute for Advanced Study at the University of Göttingen. It is a central element of the university’s concept for the future "Göttingen: Tradition – Innovation – Autonomy,” financed by the Excellence Initiative of the German Federal and State Governments and the German Research Foundation (DFG). Designed to foster innovative research in the humanities and social sciences, the Lichtenberg-Kolleg offers an intimate setting in an inspiring atmosphere and serves as a place where internationally renowned and emerging scholars meet. Here international scholars are able to focus on cutting-edge individual and collaborative research projects across the disciplines while cooperating with associated scholars and young researchers from the Göttingen Research Campus.
