If your bachelor's thesis is relevant (you must have also passed the thesis), you should also include this for consideration.

    Courses completed abroad:
If your transcript is not in German or English, it must be translated to either German or English by an official translator that also notarizes the translation.

Case 2: You have completed a bachelor's programme and have the certificate to show it

Please submit a notarized copy of your complete graduation certificate (including the diploma or supplementary materials/ Diploma Supplement).
If your graduate certificate and diploma do not include the course name and ECTS credits of your completed courses, please include an official transcript or proof of credits from your registrar's office (see Case 1). Please don't forget to also include information from your first semesters of study, which may not be included on your official certificate.

Note: To verify your eligibility for the master's programme, we must be able to confirm that you have completed sufficient courses in the areas of business administration, mathematics, econometrics and statistics. If your bachelor's thesis is relevant (you must have also passed the thesis), you should also include this for consideration.

    Courses completed abroad:
If your transcript is not in German or English, it must be translated to either German or English by an official translator that also notarizes the translation.

37073 Göttingen

Confirmation of receipt

We can also confirm receipt of your application. If you would like this option, please include a self-addressed and stamped post card. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to confirm the receipt of your application by email.

Before submitting your application, please confirm that you have fully completed your application. Incomplete applications or those that are not received by the deadline cannot be considered and will be rejected.

Applications that are received will remain at the university. We are not able to return your application materials to you.

Can I simultaneously apply to several master's programmes?

You are welcome to apply to multiple programmes at the same time, but please ensure that you submit a separate and complete application for each programme. If you are submitting multiple applications, please make sure that they are properly grouped, so they can be easily distinguished from one another.

How do I apply to start beyond the first semester of studies?

To apply to start in the programme at a higher semester level, please contact the Student Advisory Office.

How to deal with notarized copies?

When sending copies of original documents, the copies must be notarized. Notarization provides proof of the authenticity of the document, e.g. a copy of a certificate. Sending a copy of a document that is not notarized leads to the rejection of your application. Please ensure that the notarization is made by a proper and official person authorized to notarize documents.

Copies of notarized documents, regardless of whether they are electronic or hard copies are considered copies, and not notarized documents. A copy is only considered notarized when it contains the actual physical notary stamp. If you make a copy of a notarized document, the copy alone is not sufficient. In order to ensure that it is valid, you would need the copied document to also be notarized.
