 PhD Positions

Currently open: PhD position (f, m, d) in SFB 1286 Quantitative Synaptology (PDF).

We are looking for a skilled, motivated PhD student to join our team and work on measuring cellular forces using traction force microcopy and innovative microscopy. Within this project, and in a collaboration with the University Medical Center (UMG) Göttingen, we will investigate forces generated by neuronal model cells during synaptic activity. The tasks include biophysical experiments with cells using optical microscopy and traction force microcopy, as well as data analysis, development of theoretical models, and preparation of data for presentations and publications. The position (75% TVL-13) shall be filled as soon as possible and funding is available until 06/2029, with the possibility for extension.
