The University of Belgrade officially exists since 1905. In the same year, the Faculty of Orthodox Theology was officially established together with the Faculties of Philosophy, Law, Medicine and Technology. The aim and mission of the Faculty has always been the theological education and spiritual formation of future priests for the pastoral ministry. Another goal is to also strengthen students for cooperation and living together with all members of society. Therefore, teaching at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology is characterized by interdisciplinarity and cooperation with the other faculties of the University of Belgrade.
The Bachelor's and Master's programs at the Faculty educate students in the disciplines of Systematic, Practical and Biblical Theology, as well as in Christian Philosophy, Patrology and Church History. The study program also covers other areas such as liturgy, canon law, pedagogy, didactics, catechetics, educational psychology and church art.
