Flinga

Digital whiteboards play a significant role in teaching. They enable students to collaborate digitally, regardless of their physical location. Innovative features enhance the visualization of ideas and information, thereby supporting learning and working processes.

Flinga is a web-based whiteboard tool designed for the simple, collaborative collection of ideas and thoughts in the form of visual boards. Complex information can thus be presented in a clear and structured way.

Flinga is being provided as part of the Co³Learn consortium project at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Leibniz Universität Hannover, and Technische Universität Braunschweig for a trial phase until February 28, 2026. You can find information on how to create an account and receive a free upgrade at this link.

After the license period ends, accounts will transition to a free version. All sessions you created will remain accessible and can still be opened. However, Flinga cannot guarantee stable performance for more than 5 sessions. In the free version, you can create up to 5 sessions.

What is Flinga and how can I use it?

Flinga is a simple and intuitive whiteboard tool. Boards can be shared so that students can participate without needing their own account. With its two main features—Whiteboard and Wall—Flinga offers two ways to collaboratively collect and visualize ideas. On the Flinga Whiteboard, elements can be freely moved and connected with lines to create relationships.

The Flinga Wall arranges student cards in a linear sequence. Cards can be voted on and sorted according to various criteria.

Possible Use Cases

Brainstorming and Idea Collection
The Flinga Whiteboard offers an excellent way to gather and work with students’ ideas and thoughts. Individual elements can be moved around on the board, allowing new connections between them to be discovered and visualized. This visualization supports the recognition of relationships and patterns.

Q&A Session
With the Flinga Wall, instructors can provide students with a centralized space to collect questions during a lecture or asynchronously before or after class. Questions can be prioritized by students through voting or answered in chronological order.

Group Work
Students can use the Whiteboard or Wall in their own session to create a shared learning environment for their group. By collaboratively and simultaneously creating cards, initial ideas and suggestions can be gathered, contributing to the further development of the group’s project.
