The RTG 2300 is funded by the DFG from 2017 to 2026 and is investigating the functional diversity of pure and mixed forests composed of European beech with the native spruce respectively the non-native Douglas fir.

Congratulations to Christina Hackmann (SP1-2) who recently published a paper in Plant Biology: “Root water uptake depth in temperate forest trees: species-specific patterns shaped by neighbourhood and environment". Christian will defend her dissertation in July.

EnriCo members participated in the Night of Science 2025 with a booth and a both informative and entertaining panel discussion “Mensch und Wald – Zwischen Fakten und Gefühlen".
