Research Activities at the Institute for Astrophysics and Geophysics
Geophysical fluiddynamics
- Research group Prof. Dr. A. Tilgner
The research group studies various geophysical phenomena in which fluid mechanics are involved, like thermal convection, tides, and generation of magnetic fields (dynamo effect). For this numerical simulations and laboratory experiments to reproduce processes in the Earth and other planets are performed.
