Please note: Reorganisation of the Master's programmes in Business Administration in the field of Management
Starting in the winter semester 2023/2024, the existing Master's programmes in Business Administration in the area of Management will be redesigned in a future-oriented manner. The Master's programme in Management (“Unternehmensführung”) will be completely redesigned and transformed into a new Master's programme in Management (German skills required). The Master's programmes in Global Business, Marketing and E-Business as well as Business Education and Human Resource Development, on the other hand, will be discontinued so that applications for these programmes are no longer possible.

The content of the discontinued degree programmes will be incorporated into the new Master's degree programme in Management, in which corresponding specialisations can be selected. In addition, the new Master's programme in Management offers a variety of innovative elements with modules on problem-solving and communication skills, practical projects and career development.


The Master's programme in Management enables students both a wide range of knowledge in all areas of business management and a high specialised education. In addition to new academic developments in business management students will acquire the ability to reflect and analyse every entrepreneurial decision with their relevant economic consequences through integrated courses provided in the programme. They will attain the ability to solve complex economic problems and to perform leadership functions. Their studies will qualify the students for plenty of different management functions.

Details

The Master's programme in Management enables students both a wide range of knowledge in all areas of business management and a high specialised education. In addition to new academic developments in business management students will acquire the ability to reflect and analyse every entrepreneurial decision with their relevant economic consequences through integrated courses provided in the programme.

They will attain the ability to solve complex economic problems and to perform leadership functions. Their studies will qualify the students for plenty of different management functions.

Sufficient German and English language skills are required.

Management students will be able to work in all classical areas of business studies. They will attain the ability to solve complex economic problems and to perform leadership functions.

Graduates can be employed in all management and controlling departments to design planning and controlling systems. In addition, Management students can take on tasks in the area of logistics, human resources and organizational matters. Structure

Students have to perform 120 Credits in four semesters. The programme is divided in a course phase (1st – 3rd semester) and the master's thesis (4th semester). During the programme the students deepen their knowledge in the field of management and leadership. Thereby they have many possibilities to individualise and focus their studies. To perform 120 credits students have to pass “Pflicht-“, “Wahlpflicht-“ and “Wahlmodule” as well as the master's thesis:

  • 1. Mandatory courses (30 ECTS)
  • 2. Specialization in management (24 ECTS)
  • 3. Elective seminars and projects (12 ECTS)
  • 4. Quantitative methods (6 ECTS)
  • 5. Electives (18 ECTS)
  • 6. Master's thesis (30 ECTS)
By selecting your courses carefully, there is the possibility to select two minors (from the list of eight options), which will be stated on your degree, as long as you successfully complete at least 24 ECTS in each minor.

After the Bachelor's degree you can deepen and expand your knowledge in 8 consecutive Master's programmes at the faculty.
