Venue: Event Room of the Graduate School of Humanities Göttingen (GSGG), Friedländer Weg 2, 37085 Göttingen

This format of the Gender Laboratory is aimed at all those who want to methodically and theoretically deal with and network their (research) questions in a non-hierarchical setting.

In the first part, Çakır-Kılınçoğlu will talk about her study on women who participated in the radical leftist organizations which adopted armed struggle in Turkey and Iran during the 1970s; as well as her fieldwork that was based on semi-structured life history interviews that she conducted with Turkish and Iranian women living in various countries in Europe including Turkey, Germany, France, and Sweden. In the second part, an interactive discussion will focus on different interview technics and approaches, as well as the challenges of interviewing people from marginalized backgrounds or on sensitive topics. Both the talk and the workshop will be held in English.
