The EU Office of the University of Göttingen will organise the event on 25 April 2024 between 10:00h and ca. 12:30h. It will take place as online event via Zoom. The event language is English.


Please register below, if you want to participate in the event. You can register until 23 April 2024. You will receive the zoom link by email the day before the event.


Please check your email account after the registration. If you have not received a confirmation of the registration after 30 minutes, the data has not been properly saved. In this case, please repeat the registration.

The following information must be provided to you in accordance with Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO, Regulation (EU) 2016/679) when the personal data is collected:

The collection of personal data is necessary to ensure the implementation of the event at the University of Göttingen and is based on Art. 6 Section 1 Subsection 1 lit. a) DSGVO, insofar as you actively participate in word and/or image, as well as Art. 6 Section 1 Subsection 1 lit. e) in conjunction with § § 3 Section 1 Subsection 1 No. 1, 10 NHG (public tasks of the university), as far as the general implementation as a video conference is concerned.


Participation without a microphone and camera is possible. To preserve your anonymity, you can give yourself an arbitrary participant name for the video conference.


  • Regarding Art. 13 Subsection 1 e):

The personal data will be processed and transmitted to the following recipients:
The data will only be used by the organisers for the purposes of the event.


Hosting takes place via the company Zoom. The encrypted audio and video streams are also processed on servers in the USA. You can reach Zoom.us's Data Protection Officer at Zoom Video Communications, The Data Protection Officer, 55 Almaden Blvd, Suite 600, San Jose, California (95113), USA. Zoom.us's privacy policy ("Privacy Policy", https://zoom.us/de-de/privacy.html) also applies regardless of the information provided above. There you will find a list of further data recipients. The University of Göttingen has no influence on this policy.


  • Regarding Art. 13 Subsection 1 f):



Insofar as Zoom is used, a so-called third country transfer to the United States of America takes place. This is made possible by the conclusion of EU standard contractual clauses that regulate the basis for the data transfer.


  • Regarding Art. 13 Subsection 2 a):



The storage period of the data varies. Data from a live conference is only temporarily stored and automatically deleted.
Otherwise, any remaining personal data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer needed. Wherever and whenever possible, data is anonymised.


  • Regarding Art. 13 Subsection 2 b):



The data subject shall have a right of access to personal data concerning him or her vis-à-vis the University of Göttingen and, where applicable, a right to rectification, erasure or restriction of the processing of such data and a right to object to processing and a possible right to data portability. These rights can also be asserted in part against Zoom.us at the above address.


  • Regarding Art. 13 Subsection 2 c):



Insofar as the data processing is based on your consent, you have the right to revoke your consent at any time. The data processing carried out up to that point remains lawful, the revocation only applies to the future. In this case, your data will be deleted immediately.


  • Regarding Art. 13 Subsection 2 d):



The data subject has a right of appeal to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 DSGVO).

The provision of data by you is purely voluntary.


  • Regarding Art. 13 Subsection 3:



If it is intended to further process the personal data for a purpose other than the one for which it was originally collected, the University of Göttingen will provide the data subject with information about this other purpose and any other relevant information prior to such further processing.
