Dr Judy Wasserheit Young Leader Award 2023


Dr Muhammad Jawad Noon has been awarded the Dr Judy Wasserheit Young Leader Award 2023 by the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH). This award, named after the founding Board Chair of CUGH, who has had a remarkable impact in the health of people around the world, is a major international prize that honours emerging global health leaders.

Dr Noon is honored for the leadership and impact he has had, early in his career, to improve people’s well-being, particularly in low resource settings.

Dr Noon studied medicine in Pakistan, followed by an MSc in Evidence-Based Intervention and Policy Evaluation at Oxford. He currently works as a doctoral researcher at the Chair of Development Economics/ Centre of Modern Indian Studies (Prof. Dr. Sebastian Vollmer) where his work focuses on health econometrics.
In 2021, Dr Noon was awarded the German Medical Award.
