Seminar: Procurement and sales competition in the food (retail) trade
Competition in the food retail sector (LEH) is now characterised by a tight, market-dominating oligopoly.
oligopoly. The alternatives available to consumers, as well as the sales alternatives of suppliers, have
suppliers have been further reduced in recent years. Not only due to the strong price increase for
food prices in recent years, the food retail sector has remained at the centre of the competition
discussion. The seminar will focus on the interactions between sales and procurement markets in food retailing and the consequences for the industry's marketing.
