Smurfit Westrock Herzberg Solid Board GmbH

Yes, as Germany's largest solid board producer, we are one of the most secure and innovative employers in the Göttingen district. In Herzberg, we design, produce and print sustainable solid board packaging for well-known brands. There is hardly any way around Smurfit Westrock, for example in the supermarket. Everywhere you look, you see innovative packaging solutions – and we are often behind them. You'll be amazed at what solid board can do!

Smurfit Westrock is the world's leading provider of paper-based packaging solutions. With more than 100,000 employees, 500 converting facilities and 63 factories in 40 countries, we offer our customers a wide range of distinctive, innovative products.

Schedule:
On 19 June, we will depart at 8:30 a.m. from the station square, and then we will be on our way: at 8:48 a.m., the train will take us to Herzberg, where we will visit one of the most exciting industrial sites in the region.

At Smurfit Westrocka site that is unique in Europe – we will get an exclusive look behind the scenes of a true market leader in the packaging industry. Much of the outer packaging that you hold in your hands every day at the supermarket comes from right here. The facility almost looks like a small town of its own, with its own power station, two gigantic cardboard machines and state-of-the-art technology.

Following a shared lunch, we will immerse ourselves in the corporate culture, learn about the onboarding process for new employees and gain exciting insights into the world of a company that is strongly committed to sustainability – recognised as a TOP Employer in Southern Lower Saxony (TOPAS).

And, of course, there will be plenty of time for networking, asking questions and making contacts.

Goal:
By participating in an excursion, you will gain insight into a regional company and learn about its work on site. You will also find out what career opportunities the company offers. You will have the opportunity to make professional contacts and ask individual questions.

Target group: In particular (international) students studying chemistry, economics or technical subjects, open to BA/MA/PhD students of all disciplines at the University of Göttingen.

Limit of participants: maximal 20 Personen

Binding Registration: via the online registration form
