About Global Migration Studies

Global Migration Studies is run by the Centre for Global Migration Studies (CeMig) at the University of Göttingen. The papers provide a platform for migration research from various disciplinary stand-points that take a transnational and global perspective.

The papers ensure the initial dissemination of cutting-edge migration research and of contributions from migrants, activists, politicians, policy makers, and other relevant stakeholders. It addresses an international audience interested in the transregional comparison of the social, political, and economic aspects of migration in the origin, transit, and destination countries. The papers target a broad range of categorizations of migration – including labor migration, educational migration, marriage migration, forced migration, or climate-induced migration, and so forth.

The main disciplines targeted are humanities, law, social sciences, agricultural sciences, business and economics, theology, and related fields of study. Scientific contributions that are literature-based, theoretical/ conceptual, and/or based on qualitative or quantitative-empirical data are welcome for submission.

The papers include the publication of working papers, special issues, primary research data, opinion statements, teaching material, interviews, book reviews, conference or research reports, and other formats.
