Establishment of the German-Colombian Peace Institute (Instituto Colombo-Alemán para la Paz, ICAP)

As a member of a consortium, consisting of the Justus Liebig University of Giessen, the Georg-August-University of Göttingen, the Freie Universität Berlin and the Hessian Institute for Peace and Conflict Research, Prof. Dr. Martínez was asked to support the establishment of the German-Colombian Peace Institute (Instituto Colombo -Alemán para la Paz, ICAP) in Bogotá, Colombia. The establishment of the Peace Institute has been initiated and promoted by the Federal Government and the German Bundestag. The project is supprted by the Faculty of Law, especially by the Research Center for Latin Criminal Law and Criminal Proceedings, CEDPAL (Prof. Dr. Dr. hc Kai Ambos) and the Institute of Agricultural Law (Prof. Dr. Martínez). It is funded by the DAAD with funds of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a period of 10 years with an annual ? 400,000.
