A wonder of nature: titan arum blossom in Göttingen's Old Botanical Garden delights visitors
Dear visitorswe would like to thank you very much! With your enthusiasm and interest, you have made this year's titanwort blossom in Göttingen's Old Botanical Garden an unforgettable event. We are overwhelmed by the great response and grateful for your patience while you had to wait in a queue for up to 45 minutes to see the fascinating flower.

Titan arum (Amorphophallus titanum) is a rare and unusual plant that only goes through a short flowering period every few years. The flower is of impressive size and gives off an intense odour of carrion to attract flies as pollinators. It is a true miracle of nature to witness such a flowering and we are very pleased that you were able to share in it.

Your patience and enthusiasm have shown us how important the Göttingen Old Botanical Garden is to the region as a place of education, research and recreation. We would like to encourage you to continue visiting us regularly in the future and to be inspired by the beauty and diversity of the plant world.

An artist was also inspired.
We would also like to thank our staff, who work with great dedication and passion to care for and preserve the plants in the Botanic Garden. Without their commitment, this event would not have been possible.
We hope that you will remember the experience of the titanwort blossom for a long time to come and look forward to welcoming you back to Göttingen's Old Botanic Garden soon.
Best regards,
Your team from the Göttingen Old Botanical Garden
