PD Dr. Andreas Klärner has been appointed as an honorary professor

Andreas Klärner was appointed as an honorary professor at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Göttingen, effective from 1st February 2024. Andreas Klärner, a habilitated sociologist, has been working at the Thünen Institute since 2016, focusing on poverty in rural areas and the social and political consequences of spatial inequalities.

Start of the Research Network "Zukunft der Ernährung in Niedersachsen" ("Future of Nutrition in Lower Saxony" ZERN)“

The University of Göttingen, the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo) and the German Institute of Food Technology (DIL) intend to develop ways to shape the transformation of the agricultural and food systems in Lower Saxony and thus improve sustainability over the next five years.
The focus will be on agriculture, nutrition and the environment and their many interconnections.
