Information for international incoming students
Every year, we are pleased to welcome around 150 exchange students from all over the world at our faculty. Here, they benefit from a wide range of English-taught courses, from living in Göttingen – where the dynamics of a student city meet the charm of a traditional German old town – and from a great international environment at our University right in the heart of Germany.
Interested in spending an exchange semester with us? When your University takes part in an Erasmus Agreement or an exchange program with the University of Göttingen, you can apply at your home University for an exchange semester in Göttingen. Our aim is to mingle our outgoing and incoming exchange students in order to make the most of their prospective and current exchange semester. Therefore, we also work together very closely with the coordinator of the InDiGU project (Integration and Diversity at the University of Göttingen) which focuses on promoting exchange between German and international students within the framework of the so-called "studdy buddies". Check out this great programme and get into contact with the coordinator: InDiGU website

Writing a thesis while working and funding yourself independently is also possible. There are no university-based scholarships, but there are many grants that one could apply for, such as at the German Academic Exchange Service.
