Ombuds Office for Good Research Practice

The Ombuds Office provides researchers at the university with low-threshold and independent counselling on matters of good research practice. If you have questions about good research practice, are affected by a conflict in this area, or suspect research misconduct, you can contact the Ombuds Office for confidential initial consultation.

You decide whether the consultation takes place by phone, video conference, or in person. The purpose of the initial consultation is to clarify your concern and jointly consider whether and what type of support you may need (e.g., involving an ombudsperson for a mediation meeting). Without your explicit consent, the Ombuds Office will take no further steps. Upon your request, and if deemed useful for handling your concern, an exchange with other advisory services at the university can take place.

The basis for the consultation is the Rules Governing the Safeguarding of Good Research Practice.

The Ombuds Office is also actively engaged in the prevention of research misconduct. It provides information and opportunities for discussion on good research practice and can be invited to contribute to (teaching) events, workshops, or discussion forums.
