Important Information

Please send all your inquiries to elearning@uni-goettingen.de. We will do our best to process your inquiries as quickly as possible. We kindly ask you to send your inquiries well in advance, as our personnel resources do not allow for ad-hoc support.

An overview of the rooms equipped with specific types of media technology and the corresponding quick guides for using the media technology in these rooms can be found here. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the media technology using the quick guides before your event. If you have difficulties becoming familiar with the technology using the quick guides, please feel free to contact us. Please note that your request for an introduction to the media technology, especially for scenarios where you wish to work with the fixed-installed cameras and/or video conferencing systems in the room, must be submitted at least two weeks before your actual event.

If you experience a malfunction of the media technology in a lecture hall or seminar room, please first contact the building's caretaker(s) directly to obtain immediate assistance.

If the caretaker cannot resolve the issue, please call the University of Göttingen's trouble reporting center (20000 or with the area code 0551/ 39-20000) and report the malfunction. This trouble report will then be forwarded to the responsible department. Please also expect that immediate assistance from the responsible department is not guaranteed in this case.

The University of Göttingen has launched a program to renew the presentation technology in its lecture halls. The goal of the program is to provide instructors with the opportunity to enrich their in-person teaching with media and make it more interactive. Since the winter semester of 2011, an increasing number of lecture halls have been completely equipped with new media technology. The basic principle of operation is kept simple. Nevertheless, the levels of media technology equipment vary in some rooms. These variations are categorized under media technology equipment types.

The Basic Equipment According to Lecture Hall Concept and PC Login

All lecture halls are now equipped with a central HD-resolution projector. An individual notebook can be easily connected via a connection panel at the podium. However, an integrated PC is also available. The login can be done using a GWDG ID or .\UG-Student. The computers are equipped with appropriate software for lecture recordings.

Despite the extensive technology, great care has been taken to keep the operation simple. Nevertheless, we naturally do not want to leave you alone with the technology. Through the links in the sidebar, you can get more information about your lecture hall. Additionally, the Digital Learning and Teaching Service offers regular sessions to introduce you to the many possibilities of media technology and help you utilize its potential.

Interactive Whiteboards

Many rooms are currently equipped with a SMART display with pen control. This allows annotations and notes to be written directly onto the screen and saved, for example, together with a PowerPoint presentation. To use the board with all interactive functions on your own notebook, you can download and install the corresponding software on our website. Both instructors and students of the University of Göttingen receive a license for using the SMART-Notebook software. Please send us an inquiry via the web form to receive the license key.
