Sustainable employment relationship

Compatibility

The University of Göttingen supports the compatibility of studying/science/profession, family, and personal life. This includes childcare and caregiving for family members, as well as addressing time and location constraints related to various household/family arrangements and life situations. Private commitments such as volunteer work, as well as health care, sports activities, and personal development, are also part of this support.

Gender Equality

The University of Göttingen pursues a comprehensive equal opportunities policy: it combines target-group-specific support measures (individual support, especially within the framework of the Dorothea Schlözer Programme) with gender-oriented development of the University’s structures and culture. Gender equality as a cross-sectional task is integrated into all structures and processes of university fields of action.

Diversity

The University of Göttingen pursues a comprehensive diversity policy: Diversity orientation is deeply rooted as a cross-cutting task in developing the unique profile and strategy of the university. The aim is to create an organisational structure and culture that is geared to diversity and that offers all members and employees of the University equal opportunities and protection against discrimination, regardless of their origin and life situation.

Institutional Health Management

The Institutional Health Management aims to maintain and improve the work ability, motivation, and satisfaction of all employees while promoting health. Additionally, health should be embedded as a value in the company culture and actions of all, while encouraging social interaction. This also contributes to the attractiveness of the university as an employer internally and externally.
The offerings of the Institutional Health Management can be divided into the following four groups:

  • Individual: Individual health promotion
  • Team: Support for work teams
  • Work: Shaping healthy work environments
  • Culture: stablishing a health-promoting culture/li>

Healthy Campus

The Healthy Campus/a> represents the promotion of health throughout the entire university. For students, the focus is on encouraging a sustainable and healthy academic experience. For the employees of the University of Göttingen, a movement-oriented course program is available to support physical well-being. Additionally, there are programms aimed at strengthening mental health.
