I am currently a Postdoc researcher at the department of Forest Genetics Institute and Forest Tree Breeding. I will collaborate with the project entitled “The use of barcoding sequences for the construction of community phylogenies to estimate phylogenetic and functional diversity and their linkages” within the Collaborative Research Center 990 “Ecological and Socioeconomic Functions of Tropical Lowland Rainforest Transformation Systems“. My specific tasks comprise molecular data analyses (DNA sequencing, sequence editing and alignment, BLAST searches, archiving and depositing sequences in databases, phylogenetic reconstruction and statistical analyses) and publication of original scientific manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals to contribute to the field of biology, nature conservation, and sustainability. Additionally, I will investigate the relationship between functional and phylogenetic diversity across land use systems; co-supervise technical staff; and assist with the organization and coordination of the project.
Fields of interest:
• Evolution, Systematic and Conservation of Biodiversity;
• Ecology, Monitoring, Rescue and Management of Fauna;
• Environmental Risk Assessments and Management Plans.
