The effect of farmer's time preferences on measures to enhance soil organic matter: an experimental approach

Project Outline
Soil carbon sequestration has a considerable impact on both climate change in general and farm financial positions in particular. To derive implications for politics, we evaluate the factors that affect farmer's willingness to enhance soil carbon sequestration with special consideration of their time preferences. Using a business simulation game, we are able to analyse realistic decision making of a representative sample of farmers over a 10-period time frame.
