Studies
Due to the digitalisation of all areas of life, computer science gains importance for the humanities and social sciences. Computer-based approaches are able to fulfill existing tasks faster, more comprehensive and explore new horizons of research. The link between traditional research issues of humanities and social sciences with computer-aided methods is the base for the research field “Digital Humanities”. Digital Humanities in Göttingen cover the complete spectrum of humanities whereby the social sciences are included in research and teaching too.
The combination of computer science and humanities offers not only a great basis for further scientific research on the field of Digital Humanities, but prepares (university) students for the subsequent postgraduate degree or multiple possible careers. The aquired competences in the information analysis are for example in academic libraries and in the digital and traditional publishing sector of significant importance.
