Die historisch-kulturwissenschaftliche Werkstatt (hkw) bringt sowohl Kulturwissenschaftler:innen mit Erfahrungen im historisch-archivalischen Forschen, Kulturschaffende aus Museen und Archiven als auch Interessierte mit wenig Vorerfahrungen zusammen. Studierende können so nicht nur ihre historisch-archivalische Forschungskompetenzen vertiefen, sondern lernen auch spannende Berufsfelder kennen.

Krieg entschärfen? Was wir alles nicht sehen (wollen)
Jährlich werden in Deutschland um die 5000 Bomben aus dem 2. Weltkrieg durch den Kampfmittelbeseitigungsdienst entschärft oder gesprengt. Studierende im Masterstudiengang Kulturanthropologie untersuchten am Beispiel der Stadt Göttingen diese 80 Jahre nach Kriegsende immer noch Menschen, Infrastruktur und Umwelt gefährdende Situation.

Dorfjugendkultur
Der Effekt von Wandel und Konstanz im Dorf auf die jungen Menschen aus verschiedenen Generationen und mit diversen Hintergründen wird in diesem Projekt mit den folgenden Fragen untersucht: In welchen wechselnden Bedingungen haben Jugendliche seit dem beginnenden 20. Jh. ihre Jugend im Dorf Venne bei Osnabrück erlebt und wie haben sie sich eingebracht?

Who Cares? Wissenschaftlicher Alltag und Pandemie
Im Rahmen des interdisziplinären Forschungsverbundes „Who Cares? An Investigation on the Compatibility of Research and Care Work in the Time of Covid-19 and Beyond” entstand der gleichnamige ethnografische Film. Im Film „Who Cares?“ stehen die individuellen Erfahrungen von vier Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen mit der Vereinbarkeit ihres Arbeitsalltages und der Fürsorge ihrer Kinder im Mittelpunkt.

Das interdisziplinäre Forschungsprojekt “Authentizität und Vertrauen bei Biolebensmitteln“, durchgeführt unter Leitung der Agrarökonomie mit Beteilung der Kulturanthropologie/Europäischen Ethnologie stellt die Website www.biokompetent.de als eines der Projektresultate vor. Die Seite richtet sich insbesondere an Konsument*innen, die nach verständlichen aber differenzierten Angaben zu verschiedenen Aspekten von ökologischer Landwirtschaft und Bioprodukten suchen.

Postcarding Culture in Times of Upheavals
Our project explores postcards in Germany and Israel from 1960 to 2000, when both countries were undergoing profound transformation processes. While continuing to present romantic ideals of the "folk", when these were already under fierce social critique, postcards were also subverting these images and, thus, created a tension between stability and change. Among other things, we will work with archives, interviews and postcard exchanges.
